Mentionable TextInput

What I want, is a text input / text area with the ability to add mentions inline, given certain data. Like using "@" or "#" or other configurable prefixes to open a popup and allow selecting a value.
Also, it would be great if it allows defining certain type of values as mentionable or as filters. For example, the popup opens showing files and folders. On file click, add file mention; and on folder click, either show folder contents or add folder mention depending on the developer config.

This could be really useful for modern generative AI chat UIs ! Thanks already
