How to configure AutoNetwork.default_pool and other stuff?

I like the ability to configure everything in YAML but I don't seem to grasp the mechanics wrt a normal Vagrantfile. Could you give some examples of equivalent configurations using a) Vagrantfile and b) config_builder? TIA
