I don't think this repo is being maintained anymore. And I don't think it was intended to actually be released.

Would you be open to adding a maintainer? I could maintain it on behalf of AV.
Is there a reason it won't be released? We're using it as-is on humble and it works great.

I am not a maintainer myself and do not have the necessary permissions to add anyone.

I think this repo was just a proof-of-concept, but, yes I agree, it's useful.

I've asked before and also offered to maintain it, but never got a response. I can ask again.

@christophebedard Shouldn't this project's functionality be a part of rclcpp?
It would be a great tool for dynamic introspection of serialized messages.

I don't think it belongs in rclcpp, because then you couldn't use it in lower layers (e.g., rcl and rmw). I don't think it belongs in rcl (or rmw, really) either.

For example, if you look at rmw_email, I use dynmsg from the rmw layer, which makes sense, because I want to convert a message into another representation (YAML) using typesupport introspection. This only requires the message/data and the typesupport information; it wouldn't make sense to limit it to rclcpp. You can just use dynmsg anywhere as long as you have the typesupport information (and the message).
