It is currently recommended to install CAPOSC using clusterctl.

When installing CAPOSC using the Helm chart, many clusterctl features won't work (e.g. clusterctl move).

clusterctl adds annotations to the CRDs and uses them to track resources.

I'm not a big fan of adding the same reverse-engineered annotations to the Helm chart or having to answer to "why does clusterctl x does not work ?" issues. That's why the chart has never been published.

We will reevaluate the situation and decide what to do.

Thank you for your reply. What would you recommend for installing Capi Ourscale without the clusterctl command?

Why wouldn't you use clusterctl ?

We install capi outscale with helm for use gitops philosohphy. And we install few times helm chart in same cluster ( once per managed environment)

The current solutions I can think of:

• host your own Helm chart,
• deploy using a kustomized manifest (see capm.yaml as an example).

We cannot currently guarantee that there won't be any problem using one of those methods.

If you plan to use clusterctl move, you'll need to add the various annotations it requires.
