i guess a very Basic http Interface could bei useful. For example i have mentioned that without DHCP i get no mac.. But it was pretty hard to debug because i cant see the device our logs with ease. So maybe an basic web interface with e.g. network information or the logs could bei really useful. Best regards |

I think using esp-hal would potentially allow DMA to be used for Ether<->Wi-Fi interconnect, which could provide a huge speed boost. |

I wanted to use Discussions to provide some status updates.
For a while I've wanted to implement this project on bare metal ESP32, since I think ESP-IDF is not really necessary. As implemented right now, we don't need a TCP/IP stack, HTTP server, etc.
That said, I would eventually like to add an HTTP server for configuration.
I've been trying to implement an RMII driver and then Ethernet drivers (like LAN8720) for [esp-hal(github.com/esp-rs/esp-hal), but unfortunately have not been successful☹️ . This is where I'd like to take esp32-wifi-bridge in the future.
Tagging @Bartvz and @eloo since you guys have been active recently. Apologies if you're not interested.
