As you've already noticed, our smartphone apps aren't made for actual visualisation of tracks but simply for obtaining location data and submitting that to a backend. I'm not aware of people having tried this, but I'm sure you could gain some amount of fame in attempting to implement a viewer. :-) |

Hi all,
New Owntracks user here, trying to de-Google my life. I have setup a self hosted owntracks server here and it works great, but in order to be able to get rid of Google maps and the Timeline feature I would need to be able to access my geolocation history via the app. Right now the app is only a recorder that sends positions to the server. I think it would be a nice addition to be able to fetch data from the server, like done in the front-end application.
Is there maybe anyone who already looked into this? I could try and contribute but I've never coded anything for Android.
I might start looking into that.
