Invalid URL after setup sogs server and room

I have setup sogs-standalone per the instructions. I created a room and added my session ID as an admin. Running on Ubuntu 24 LTS.

http://chat.mysite.com/ Loads just fine and I select the room I created. I have a QR code and a url "http://chat.mysite.com/r/roomname?publickey=..." with the room's public key. If I paste the URL into my session desktop to join a community, I get the Invalid URL error. If I scan the QR code to join community on my iphone, I get the error, Failed to join community Internal Server Error. (NetworkError.internalServerError).
