Support opening links in Pachli via "Set as default -> Supported web addresses" method in the Android App Info screen? #1855

The feature would be great, but a list of Mastodon servers would be crazy long and in need of maintenance, wouldn't it? The thing is I seem to recall another Android client who did that... it might be worth looking into it. As a workaround, what I do is: Long tap and copy the link, then paste it in the Pachli search box. It instantly finds the post (as it is a unique result in the search, no other operators needed) and I continue from there. |

Yes, that's part of the problem. Android doesn't let you (generally) handle links for domains you can't prove you own. #365 exists, but I have concerns about the UX and other issues (#365 (comment)). |

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but would it be possible to add settings to allow Pachli to open links of a specific domain - like NewPipe can do with Youtube and some PeerTube links?
I know this could be tricky to maintain a list of the ever-changing 10,000+ Mastodon sites, but maybe the top X domains, and allow custom additions by the user?
When I get sent links from other people, by default the links open in a browser, so if I want to favourite or boost them, I have to go though the process of going to my own domain in a browser, and then boosting the post etc.
