Format type annotation as part of the type

In 2022, I opened #805 to fix incorrect formatting of type annotations (by cherry-picking a commit from google-java-format, thus reducing the difference between the two formatters). No one got back to me, and I assumed that palantir-java-format was a dead project. Is the project still open to such a pull request? What is the status of tracking upstream improvements to google-java-format (while retaining the documented differences in palantir-java-format)?
