Left action button should show menu icon/behavior if page contains sidebar

Correct me if this is actually already implemented.

If a page contains a sidebar component, the actionbar should display the menu icon to perform showing the sidebar:

Once shown, since the sidebar is not drawn on top of the actionbar (maybe it should?), the icon should toggle to the back state to close the menu when clicked.

According to Material design guidelines there are two types of sidebars. The temporary should overlay the content:

Nav drawers that are temporary overlay the content canvas. Nav panels that are pinned sit alongside or below the content canvas.

I've modify the demo to achieve this, but still it should be done in the library. Here is my code, and below a gif:
