Popup flashes when viewing passwords to TOTP codes

When (using the web ui) I press the eye icon next to a password or TOTP code, the browser flashes before showing the password/code.

I ended up taking a video, and managed to catch what appears to be darkening the UI and displaying a variation of "decrypting password" for a brief moment, then returning to the UI.

Can the popup/flashing be permanently disabled?

Please let me know if this is the wrong place for UI issues
