Description
This is an "does it work this way or is this pointless" question.
I assume that there are frequencies (i.e. integer ratios) where phase noise / spurs are lowest. I am thinking here in terms of fractional N synths where integer N's are cleaner than fractional ones.
In a low-IF SDR architecture, the IF frequency is not fixed e.g. we have 96kHz sampling, 0-48kHz IF band and IF channel frequency could be adjusted from perhaps 10kHz to 30kHz.
So when I try to set a frequency, the library could give me the best (lowest noise) nearby frequency. Then I can calculate the required IF frequency
e.g. I request 14.1377MHz +/-10kHz. The api tells me that best is 14.135. I move my IF frequency 2.7kHz from 24kHz to 26.7kHz.
