Ask: why Payloadcms didn't have hooks field blurred?

Problem: when field A triggered (typing or value change), I want field B know and do something without save record.

Is it possible? or it is has been already on roadmap? I need to know, maybe I can contribute about this.

Hey @afrianjunior,

This is possible with the use of some react hooks included in Payload out of the box! You can author a custom component to do this for you using something like the useFormFields hook, for example. See the docs on this here. I'd encourage you to check out the rest of the hooks on that page as I imagine they may be useful to you as well.

Custom component which mean custom UI, its make inconsistence for my UI, is it possible to re-use default UI of payloadcms?

In my case, I just want to make dynamic options for select field.

Hey @afrianjunior,

You could definitely reuse the components that come from the ui package to match the the look of the rest of the admin ui. See here for a custom select component in v3.

You could create a client Field component that uses the useFormFields hook to get the data you need from the other field, as you mentioned, and then expose the data you need as options in that select.
