Pino wildcardFirst error when runnin getPayload in Node

I'm following this example from Payload docs:

But when I run my script, it fails as I call getPayload({ config }) with this error:

TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'Symbol(pino.wildcardFirst)')

Running the command like this:

npx payload run seed.ts

Any ideas what I'm missing?

Using Node v20.18.0.
