Typescript Type Error When Following Remote JSON Schema Example

I'm following example from https://payloadcms.com/docs/fields/json#remote-json-schema but Typescript complained that schema property is required. When I add the property such schema: {}, it's no longer using the remote schema.

Is this only a type definition error? Because even if Typescript complained, the remote schema works. That said, this would prevent compilation since it won't pass the type checks. Is there any workaround for this? Or am I making a mistake here?
