Payload CLI - generate:types - Unknown file extension ".ts"

I am using Payload in a NextJS project with TypeScript.

When I use payload generate:types I get the error:

Payloadcms/next Version: 3.48.0
Node Version: v22.17.1

./collcetions/Users.ts is a default collection generated with create-payload-app@latest so I'm not sure this is related to something I am doing wrong but any advice would be appreciated.
