Hook abort action

hey all!

I was wondering - is it possible to abort the action that triggered the hook (e.g. user delete) from within the hook?
So building a user delete hook that verifies something about this user and potentially blocks the user deletion from happening?

Absolutely! You can do this with a hook that throws an error. You would probably use beforeDelete hook but others will work. If a hook calls other local API methods and something else errors in the same request, as long as you have transactions and pass the req through, it won't be committed to the DB.

I recommend you import the APIError from payload (or a more specific Error we export), and call it with isPublic: true to show the error message in the admin UI.
