Lexical Editor: add class to selection

Hi, did somebody figure out how to extend Lexical so that users may add a custom class to a selection of text?

I'm interested in this as well. I have been trying for weeks and nothing comes close. Needless to say, I am quite frustrated with the insane complexity of Typescript.
