Locally linking other packages / repositories

Is there interest (or possibly already a way) to link local repositories during development?

For example, in the npm / yarn / pnpm ecosystem there is ordinarily a yarn link <package> type of command, which lets you link another local package into the current package.

I think it is the same as an editable package in Python. Just pdm add -e <local_path>
