Please, I would like to know if is possible to run PeachPie within Unity.

Unity is an engine for creating applications and games, which uses C# as its main code.

It would be very interesting to be able to develop games and apps using PHP.

I tried to run it, but we were unable to change the project's configuration files themselves, as it is provided readonly by Unity.

Is there a way to instantiate PeachPie from a method, using only arguments to send the phps "path"?

good question! have you tried referencing a PeachPie project from the C# Unity project?

It is not possible to reference it in the Unity project, because when compiling for any platform, it does not become a dependency.

I tried to install it from a Nuget plugin, but Unity only supports .NET 2, and the Runtime needs at least version 6.

One way I tried was to manually import the Runtime and all dependencies as DLLs into Unity, but when I did that, the UI simply freezes and I can no longer change anything in the project.

From the logs, I was able to identify that there is something interfering with Unity's internal DLLs, more precisely the UI and the Unity compiler.

Would it be possible to transpile the PHP files into a native file? So, instead of having a compiled DLL, I would have a source file in C# (CS).

That way, I would be able to add the dependencies externally, without needing the Runtime.

@kazzkzpk peachpie is not a traspiler, it's compiler. It produces MSIL code, and not C# code (it is not the same, and most of the MSIL code cannot be represented by a C# code)
