Discussion DOs and DON'Ts

Help us help you. Following these simple steps will greatly increase the chances of a timely response and a productive discussion!

DO:

• Explain at a high level what you are trying to accomplish.
• Include screenshots and small, formatted XML or code snippets.
• Tell us your GPU, OSG version, and osgEarth version. Run osgearth_version --caps and share the output.
• Include an Earth File that will help people reproduce your issue. There are lots of templates in the tests folder. Even if you are doing something in code, reproducing it with an earth file is often more helpful.

DO NOT:

• Post pages and pages of code...no one will read them, and we will probably delete them
• Ask people to write your code for you
• Say "it doesn't work" without supporting documentation
