API vs. web results – missing linkedIn URLs in API responses

Hello,

I'm working on an automation in Make.com to enrich my database by finding LinkedIn profile URLs for employees of specific companies. I thought Perplexity AI could help with this. When I search manually on Perplexity’s web interface, the results are excellent and provide useful LinkedIn profile links. However, when I use the Perplexity API, I receive responses like:

"Unfortunately, I do not have access to information about specific employees of the company HR department and to their profiles on LinkedIn. As artificial intelligence, I cannot view current employee profiles on social platforms."

I came across some discussions where removing parameters like search_domain_filter and search_recency_filter helped resolve similar issues, but this has not worked in my case.

Has anyone encountered this discrepancy between Perplexity Web vs. API results?
Are there specific API settings or workarounds to get the same results as the web version?

I have the same problem. Even tried the Playground. While Playground provides very comprehensive answer, the API gives a short one saying that information is not publicly available. But Playground finds it. Very frustrating
