Add progress bar or busy cursor when running calculating the route

Problem

When I tried to compute a route for quite big data, my QGIS seems hanging. I don't know whether it's still running or just hanging.

Improvement

Add a progress bar or busy cursor to indicate that it is indeed still running

Alternatives

Even better, if it can run in the background, so I can still use QGIS while waiting the computation.

About the progress bar, I don't know if it is possible.
About the run it on the background: that might be possible, would you like to give it a try to solve the issue?
