Bug: partially can't open a link in a new tab if the link hint end with number

Describe the bug

There are two ways to open a link in a new tab. (a) F then type link hint (b) f then type link hint with shift¹.

For the second method, it doesn't work as expected when the link hint ends with number. I think this is a bug.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. press f in the browser. Let say our link has "A3" link hint.
2. press a
3. while pressing shift, press 3
4. Expected behavior: open a link in a new tab / Actual behavior: all link hints are dismissed (link pressing esc)

additional note: I thought this is a bug because it works as expected when the link hint ends with alphabet e.g., AA.

I think this happen because Shift + 3 produces the # character, which does not match the link hint 3.

But isn't it weird that you can use shift (to make new tab) for some hints like fa and you can't for other hints like f3?

Maybe that's why link hint characters default to sadfjklewcmpgh in settings?
