Is there a package in linux that doesn't require building PHP out of the box?

Probably a lot of people would recommend docker, but I wonder if there are other more convenient ways to do it?

Each Linux distribution has its package management tool. For example, Ubuntu has apt and quite recent PHP versions available in default repositories. Otherwise, there is PPA available https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/php

Fedora-based distributions have Remi's repo: https://rpms.remirepo.net/ and probably the most updated PHP versions.

Alpine Linux: https://pkgs.alpinelinux.org/package/edge/community/x86_64/php83

Is there a method that can be used after a compressed package is extracted?

Archives downloaded from php.net site are raw sources, which need to be built into binary executables. I'm not sure there is yet a simpler way than apt install php... or dnf install php... or apk add php... or similar. There are then also many Docker images that already include prebuilt packages of PHP without the need to compile the sources from scratch.

There are so many ways to install PHP that it's difficult to point you to one ultimate way here.

Well, I developed a Linux desktop application with PHP, because I want to package and distribute, so I need to package the PHP environment together, is there any direct and effective way?

@petk I discovered a project called static-php-cli, and it has already solved this problem! For project packaging, I can simply use appimage to combine and package them together!
