Problem with iptcparse($info["APP13"])

I have a problem with iptcparse($info["APP13"]), some iptc fields are not read with jpeg images produced with DXO Photolab (all version) like title ('2#005') and description ('2#120'). I verified the xmp data included in the image file and these fields are present.

While iptcparse() and getimagesize() are documented in the GD chapter, they are actually part of ext/standard (we should probably change the documentation accordingly).

Thank you for your feedback. This is an example of image exported from DXO Photolab 8. I manage website for a photoclub, members have to set the title and subject fields of the picture they submit for club contest. When they export from Lightroom Classic, Acdsee, etc and with windows file property also. The iptc data are read correctly, but not with DXO Photolab, I uploaded the photo on my website: Link to file

Note that there are three common ways to store metadata in JFIF files: Exif, IPTC, and XMP. This image has Exif and XMP metadata, but no IPTC metadata. As such, iptcparse() is pointless. You can read the Exif metadata with exif_read_data, and that gives you (amongst others) the proper ImageDescription, but no Title is stored in the Exif metadata. There is no readily available way, though, to read the XMP metadata with PHP or any of the bundled extensions. getimagesize() uses the following code:

This is appropriate to get the Exif metadata, but the XMP metadata are stored in the second APP1 segment. Changing the code respectively, yields a somewhat useable result for getimagesize("exempleiptc.jpg", $info); var_dump($info["APP1"]); an excerpt:

But of course we cannot do this change for BC reasons, and also for BC reasons we cannot even easily address the XXX in the code comment (i.e. to return an array for APP segments with multiple occurrences). But even if we would, getting the desired info out of the second APP segment is not quite trivial. So I don't think a feature request makes much sense; and this is definitely not a bug in php-src.

I suggest to use a userland library for your purpose; maybe https://packagist.org/packages/wikimedia/xmp-reader is suitable.
