PECL install make options

Hi
I wanted to submit an issue on https://pear.php.net but mail confirmation was not working

When installing big packages using pecl (something like grpc) pecl is building the package and not using pre-compiled binaries
And building big packages are taking too long, by providing options to add extra args to make command We will be able to give them a -j option that will make build so much faster

Just like what we have for configure options using -D

Given that https://github.com/php/pie, which will replace pecl`, is work in progress, I don't think there'll be further improvements to pecl.

I mean that I want to know if PIE is able to customize make options?
Also it's included in docker images?
And it will support every extension that I'm installing using PECL?

I don't know. If you want to know, try it out. And if something doesn't work to your liking, file an issue for PIE.

In pear code I found that I can override MAKE command by Setting MAKE env variable

I think there is no need to add features or develop new parameters for pecl/pear just documenting this env could save a lot of time
