Any possibility of adding mermaid support?

Great tool, love it for giving users an option for simple automatic pages... you support LaTeX, which is awesome, but I'm wondering if you could possibly also handle mermaid through one of the available python libraries? Currently I can only support this by double processing - basically run every .md file through mermaid-cli and then running through your tool. Given that most .md files don't have mermaid, it's a bit overkill.
