If I switch to syncing Outlook to Google both ways will I get duplicate entries?

I am syncing Outlook to Google because I don't really use Google calendar but I have Google home so I can ask what's on my calendar. I never really use it to calendar entries but I thought it might be nice to be able to tell Google to put somehting on my calendar.

Anyway if I change to have Outlook and Google sync both ways is it going to duplicate all of the entries in the Google calendar? Or does the program recognize the entries made in the Google calendar only and sync only those "back" to Outlook?
