Missing instructions, double menu items

I installed the extension, but all I got was twice the menu items:

--and my project is still using very old wifi library, so I doubt pioarduino is in use.

Platformio or pioarduino extension can only be installed. pioarduino has same functions and works like Platformio extension. Under the hood it is very different, it does not use or install anything from Platformio registry!

ok, so , I need to uninstall Platformio - ... how will this affect my other STM32 / Arduino applications?

should have no impact. If uninstall pioarduino and use Platformio extension. Once pioarduino Platform espressif32 is installed it is no problem to use only Platformio extension

Thank you, I found Pioarduino as I discovered very odd issues with wifi (multi-AP / roaming-related) and observed that the libraries were awfully outdated.
I am surprised, is PlatformIO just ignoring Espressif issues, or ignoring Arduino updates, or what is going on ? - imagine that there is a good reason for you not just submit a PR to their project, or them to want to fix this. Maybe PlatformIO development stopped up or something?

Espressif does not pay Platformio to support. Platformio only supports products where vendors pay for support in Platformio
