Is there an easy way I can spin up storybook or something? Can't invest too much time just trying to preview / review

There are probably some caching changes that could be implemented to get the costs down.
I built the gatsby site in a docker container with nginx in front of it and added some cache headers.
Happy to upstream the dockerfile/compose to make re-hosting easier.

I think you should consider https://pages.cloudflare.com/. I don't have experience with it, but they say "Unlimited static requests" and "Unlimited bandwidth".
