Sloped map constant sliding and no jumping

is there a way to disable sliding completely even on any slope?   

My character loads and then immedately starts sliding down my map unless i move around and while this sliding state is happening i'm unable to move.  Is there a way to disable this?  I keep trying different settings but can't seem to find a way to do this.
