How to build examples?

Here's what I've tried

git clone -s <path.git>
cd react-three-fiber
yarn install
yarn run build
cd examples
yarn install
yarn run build

Is that about right?
I've ended up with this error

Failed to compile.

./node_modules/drei/index.js
Cannot find module: 'three/examples/jsm/modifiers/SubdivisionModifier'. Make sure this package is installed.

This is on a macbook.

It looks like you might be using an incompatible version of drei with three, can you share what versions of those packages you're using, please?

I'm not sure what you mean - I've just cloned the repo and issuedyarn install and yarn build

To answer the questions about versions:

This is what examples/package.json says to install

    "drei": "^1.5.7",

and ./package.json

    "three": "^0.126.1",

I've had a look in examples/node_modules/drei/package.json and that says

{
  "name": "drei",
  "version": "1.5.7",

and examples/node_modules/three/package.json

{
  "name": "three",
  "version": "0.126.1",

Does that help? Thank you!

That example must be out of date, drei is no longer published under drei, you need to install @react-three/drei which is compatible with three@126

I changed package.json

    @"react-three/drei": "^1.5.7",

and that gets me further.

However:

yarn run start

Failed to compile.

./node_modules/use-cannon/dist/index-548cb6ed.js
Attempted import error: 'Face3' is not exported from 'three' (imported as 'y').

I think I'm out of my depth here, I'll circle back when I've got more time. Any recommendations for getting a dev area set up for tinkering with examples would be appreciated - if fixes are needed I can wait, and it's not urgent. Thanks for the help tonight.

Firstly, you shouldn’t have changed the name in the package, you should have done a fresh install of @react-three/drei, secondly cannon has a problem with the latest version of three because they removed Face (blame three for not using semver). You’ll need to check the use cannon repo for more information but I imagine you should use three@124

After a yarn install I'm now getting this.

Failed to compile.

./src/demos/GltfPlanet.js
Module not found: Can't resolve 'drei' in '/Users/david/projects/react-three-fiber/examples/src/demos'

No the issue should not be reopened. Have you changed changed the import paths to reflect the new name of ‘drei’?

Do the examples build for you? What did you change to make that happen? Or what steps did you follow?
