It would be nice for desktop-plus to have a different color icon ( or a different icon all together? )

I'm not sure if a new icon is really needed at the moment.
I understand it would make the app easier to distinguish from the upstream GitHub Desktop, but I don’t think most users have both installed on the same system at the same time.

Could you clarify the use case that makes this change necessary? If others have the same need, I’d also be interested to hear about it.

Reasons for different coloured icon ?

• support ( why do "features" no longer exist / work )
• easily identified
• it looks cool
• for those running desktop and desktop-plus in case they're not sure about running it for their daily runner

I'm not sure I understand this one, what do you mean, exactly? Our fork does not remove existing features.

It's a fair point. I don't know if there will be many people daily-driving both at the same time, but since we allow installing both, we should also have a good way of distinguishing them.

Since you've already created a PR, let's go ahead with the new icon.
