Hooks are not working

The problem

I downgraded to v3.5.5.3 and found that the hooks worked correctly. In v3.5.5.4, the post-commit hook is not working. I confirmed that this hook works correctly when committing via the command line using Git. In v3.5.5.4, the two Git hook checkboxes in the settings are ineffective regardless of their state.

• Write a post-commit hook.
• Performing Git commit operations via the terminal works correctly.
• Undo the commit.
• The commit hook does not work when performing commit operations in Desktop Plus.

@xxnuo It seems that the post-commit hooks don't work when the "Load Git hook environment variables from shell" setting is enabled. They work fine when the setting is actually disabled.
The problem I've seen is that unchecking the box and pressing "Save" doesn't seem to actually disable it. If I open the settings window again the box is still checked.
Can you verify that you are having the same issue?

If so, as a temporary workaround you can go to View > Toggle Developer Tools > Application > Local storage and set git-hooks-env-enabled to 0

The UI toggle should be working on the latest release :)
Feel free to reopen this issue if disabling "Load Git hook environment variables from shell" doesn't fix the problem
