How to set the value when the datetimepicker is created?

Apologies if I'm being stupid here - love the look and feel of this, but it only seems to work if you change the time/date.

I have mine defaulted to now, so if you don't actually change it (or at least open it and press select), it doesn't return a value - is there a way round this?
