Issue with AltGr key using Neo2 keyboard layout

Hi, I am using the "German (Neo)" keyboard layout variant. In this layout, the "AltGr" key ("Level_5_Shift") is a modifier to access layer 4 of this layout.
However, in both Cosmic Term and Cosmic Settings this key is "blocked" for me and I am not able to access layer 4 there.
Other applications, including decrypting my luks encrypted drive during boot, logging in, cosmic text editor, flatpak firefox, flatpak terminal, flatpak thunderbird, etc. all work normally.
