Within DMP Assistant, administrators can utilize customizable 'Alliance' or funder templates and add local guidance. This local guidance then appears as a secondary guidance tab for their users.
Issue: When a customizable funder template gets updated, users have to 'Transfer Customization'. This however updates and publishes the template but removes any prior local guidance that was added. The guidance is not lost, but users have to go and republish the template from the template menu. This results in a two step process for admins that may cause confusion and issues for users.
There is currently a message on the status of the template, but I feel like many admins would miss this message. It may be beneficial to have a pop up style warning or something that alerts admins that they need to either accept or review their local guidance and then it can be published at the same time as the transfer customization instead of just this status menu. Other solutions may be available.
