RHEL 8 Support?

Apologies if this is in a roadmap somewhere that I've been unable to find, but what is the anticipated timeline (if any) for publishing Red Hat 8 Positron binaries? RHEL 8 is still supported (and will be through 2029), and while I was able to get Positron running on a RHEL 9 dev environment, RHEL 8 is still the standard at my organization and I would love to be able to get Positron into our data scientists' hands.

Hi @LArkema -- thanks for the interest!

We are planning to add RHEL8 support in 2025 for two Positron modalities:

1. Positron remote SSH session from desktop (ie Mac/Windows) connecting to a remote RHEL8 linux environment
2. Positron Pro on Posit Workbench on RHEL 8.

We are not planning to add native Positron Desktop support for RHEL 8, outside of the Remote SSH support outlined above.

Right now, we're targeting 2H-2025, I can't offer a specific Month/Quarter at this time. Thanks!
