Error loading Quarto visual mode

I have generated a .qmd document with R 4.3.2. Whenever I switch to visual editing mode, I get the following error:

Can you create a a minimal reproducible example of a .qmd file that demonstrates this problem? The goal of such an example is to make it easier for us to recreate your problem so that we can understand it and/or fix it. If you've never heard of this kind of example before, you may want to start with the Quarto page on bug reports page, which has some guidance. Thanks! 🙌

Thank you for getting back to me. This problem occurs with any .qmd file. For example:

Do you think this could have to do with the fact that, when prompted, I agreed to import VScode extensions into Positron? That is the only user choice I have made since installing.

Oh man, that is frustrating! FWIW I don't see a problem with that type of file in visual mode:

• Are you sure that's all in your file? Nothing weird is in there?
• What version of Positron are you using? You can copy that from "About Positron"
• What version of Quarto are you using? You can tell in the status bar down there at the bottom (see how mine says "Quarto 1.6.42")
• I would be very surprised that the problem is your settings import, but want to share what is there? You can run "Preferences: Open User Settings (JSON)" to see what's there

• Yes, that's all that's in the file. This error persists whether I'm using a .qmd file created in Positron and Rstudio.
• Positron Version: 2025.06.0 (Universal) build 167, Code - OSS Version: 1.100.0
• Quarto 1.2.313
• Here are the imported settings. I cut them to TextEdit, restarted Positron, and the issue persists.

Update: Fixed! The Quarto version was not up-to-date, I suppose. I am now on Quarto 1.7.31 and it's working like a charm. User settings were put back in place and no problems there. Thanks for troubleshooting with me!
