That outline gets generated by the Quarto extension, which is in this repo: There are a number of existing issues about the outline, so you might take a look at these to see, and add a 👍 and/or additional info on what you are looking for: |

I'm trying to figure out which team “owns” this part, the quarto outline pane:

I prefer to work in .qmd files over .R, most of the time, but I prefer the OUTLINE-pane that I get for the .R script because I can use emojis in code chunks for easier navigation. There are also some problems with the quarto outline (like names for code chunks).
I would like to open an issue, but not sure if I should do it here or at https://github.com/quarto-dev
(and if at the quarto git, wich one?)
