Issue

Unclear

Suggested Changes

The documentation talks about using ipywidget traits for interacting with widgets, for example plotly. There is no example of interaction with plotly through traits in the documentation (or any other interaction with plotly). For ipyleaflet there is a

reactive_read(map.widget, 'center')

I have spent most of a couple of days to try to get something like that to work with plotly (for example reading hover coordinates), to no avail.

If this is at all possible (plotly is mentioned prominently on that page), it would be really good to have an example of that, or alternatively state that it is not possible with plotly.

Motivation (Optional)

plotly is the to-go plotting package for many users, and interacting with it is a key aspect.
