Specify default environment for tasks?

Is is possible to specify a default env for a task that is not the standard default env? I have seen in the docs that one can do:

[tasks]
test = "python --version"

[feature.py311.dependencies]
python = "3.11.*"

[feature.py312.dependencies]
python = "3.12.*"

[environments]
py311 = ["py311"]
py312 = ["py312"]

# Task that depends on other tasks in different environments
[tasks.test-all]
depends-on = [
  { task = "test", environment = "py311" },
  { task = "test", environment = "py312" },
]

However, I would like to achieve something along the lines of:

[tasks]
test-311 = {cmd="python --version", environment = "py311"}
test-312 = {cmd="python --version", environment = "py312"}

[feature.py311.dependencies]
python = "3.11.*"

[feature.py312.dependencies]
python = "3.12.*"

[environments]
py311 = ["py311"]
py312 = ["py312"]

Is this possible at all, or does it always require defining an "intermediate" task to depend on?

I don't think this is possible right now. In other words, you want to be able to pixi run test-311 --environment=py312?

Thanks for the quick reply! To clarify, I want to be able to:

pixi run test-311 # uses py311 by default
pixi run test-312 # uses py312 by default

"by default" yes, but you also want to be able to choose to run these tasks in other envs?

The command pixi run test-311 --environment=py312? should work as well, but just override the default env py311 for the test-311 command. I hope this makes sense.
