Primer ViewComponents is transitioning to maintenance mode

Hello PVC community!

As part of our ongoing platform evolution at GitHub, we will be shifting Primer ViewComponents into maintenance mode effective February 2026.

What does this mean for you?

• PVC will continue to receive security and critical bug fixes
• No new features or enhancements will be accepted after the maintenance mode start date
• Support will focus on keeping systems operational and secure
• For new UI projects, we recommend adopting Primer React
• For existing PVC-based projects, we recommend forking this repo to maintain your own copy

We’re grateful to everyone who has contributed to and adopted Primer ViewComponents over the years.

Our team will continue monitoring for critical issues to support a smooth transition.
