Just an idea...
The DX7II offers a MIDI setup option that filters notes by even or odd note numbers.
This is an elegant method to double the polyphony when using multiple tone generators.
Since the MiniDexed provides eight tone generators, it would even be possible to split the voices across more than two units —
for example: 1 of 4 for note numbers, having bitpattern xxxxx01 ,
2 of 4 for note numbers, having bitpattern xxxxx10 ,
3 of 4 for note numbers, having bitpattern xxxxx11 ,
4 of 4 for note numbers, having bitpattern xxxxx00 .

Hi @manfredheninger-cmyk. So if I understand it correctly, in the end you'd like to increase polyphony? I am asking because it might be possible to "just" increase the amount of polyphony per TG without splitting up the notes between different TGs.

What level of polyphony are you looking for?

Hi, I have to admit that 16 voices per TG are sufficient for almost all applications; only with pianos or electric pianos using a sustain pedal might it happen that notes are accidentally muted.

The option with an even/odd note filter could also be used for interesting panning effects. Similar to the TX802 or the OBX, but not exactly the same. With the OBX, it's possible to output the notes sequentially to the left and right channels, i.e., first note on the left, second note on the right, third note on the left, and so on.

For TX802, there is a performance setting for linking the parts (voices, TGs), and every incoming note goes to the next linked part.
For example, you have a performance where first 4 TGs are linked, the first incoming note goes to TG1, second to TG2 etc.

An other nice feature of TX802 is PAN envelope, where a voice moves between channels according to this envelope.
Imagine a performance, where the TGs have a slightly different voices, all linked and with panning envelope. You can get something like spacially phased voice, nice for techno or ambient music.
