Lugre Tire Model

What is the real reason why the Lugre Tire has been removed a couple of years ago ?
Which one of available tires is better than Lugre for simulation at low/zero vehicle velocities with good computation performance for real time fixed step simulation on rigid terrain?

That Lugre tire model was experimental and not validated in any way.
Any of the current handling tire models in Chrono (Pacejka, TMeasy, TMsimple, Fiala) are extended to work at zero/low speeds and offer real-time performance on rigid terrain.
