Alertmanager statefulset doesn't re-appear after deletion when I introduce values in alertmanager helm chart

Hello,

I am trying to change the default values of the alertmanager in the helm chart. I have tried multiple versions, but I am running into the same problem.

When I introduce data into alertmanager.config.* I usually delete the statefulset so that the alertmanager loads up the new secret, but then it never re-appears again. What am I doing wrong here with my workflow?
