[Announcement] Birthday Paradox Challenge 2023

Hi all,

After symmetric-key encryption, we will move on to the next topic, message integrity. There is an interesting problem called Birthday paradox which is closely related to the topic.

I found a good introductory YouTube video for the problem here. It would be nice if you watch the video before the class (maybe tomorrow or next Mon).

Once you understand the problem, let us have Birthday paradox challenge. We have around 100 students in class. How much chance of that no two students have the same birthday? Enter your birthday in this year via this form. If no ones share a birthday, I will give a birthday paradox present to you folks.
