안녕하세요.

튜링상 업적을 해설하는 열린 튜링 강연회를 소개합니다. 이 강연회는 매년 튜링상 수상 업적을 알기 쉽게 풀어내는 자리입니다. 우리 전산학부와 서울대 컴퓨터공학부, 포항공대 컴퓨터공학과가 매년 함께 마련하고 있습니다.

이번 강연에서는 올해 수상 업적이자 장안의 화제인 강화 학습을 비롯하여, 컴퓨터 구조 분야 2017년 수상 업적, 인터넷 분야 2004년 수상업적을 함께 다룹니다. 우리 수업과 관련된 분야는 아니지만 전공자로서 기본 소양을 쌓을 수 있는 좋은 기회이니 살펴보길 바랍니다. 포항공대에서 개최되지만, 유투브로 생중계할 예정이니 모두들 볼수 있을겁니다.

We would like to introduce the Open Turing Lecture Series, which offers accessible explanations of Turing Award achievements. This annual lecture series is dedicated to helping the public better understand the work behind the Turing Award, the most prestigious honor in computer science. It is jointly organized each year by the Computer Science departments of KAIST, Seoul National University, and POSTECH.

This year’s lecture will cover the 2024 Turing Award, which has drawn wide attention for its contributions to reinforcement learning, as well as past achievements in computer architecture (2017) and the Internet (2004). Although these topics may not directly relate to our course, it’s a great opportunity to build foundational knowledge as a computer science major.

The lecture will be held at POSTECH but will be livestreamed on YouTube, so everyone can watch it.

Please visit the website below for more details. Some past lectures have covered topics like cryptography, which we’ve discussed in class—so we recommend watching those as a good review.
