Exit denote-sort-dired

Hi Prot !

Perhaps a silly question but ... how do I cancel denote-sort-dired ?

I've turned it on and it is unbearably slow (600+ notes). Returning to plain dired with C-x d doesn't help; modeline still displays "Dired by name".

Kill the buffer.

I am not sure I follow you here. The 'denote-sort-dired' command will put you in a regular Dired buffer that it populates with all the files that match your given search terms. Perhaps you mean the 'denote-dired-mode' which is about highlighting the file name components? For that, do 'M-x denote-dired-mode' to toggle it in the current buffer. Check your configuration if you have a hook for it and remove it from there as well. Let me know how it goes.

My mistake.
I had never noticed that the modeline descriptor of regular Dired buffers was Dired by name.
Will get come coffee.
